What this is
LitRPG Central is a curated catalog of LitRPG and progression-fantasy books with aggregate scores — think Metacritic, but for stat sheets and dungeon cores. Reader ratings live scattered across Royal Road, Goodreads, Amazon, and Audible, each on its own scale and each with its own blind spots. We pull them together so you can compare books at a glance and drill into the per-source numbers when it matters.
How the scores work
Every source rating is normalized to a 0–100 scale (a 4.5/5 becomes 90), then averaged with equal weight across the sources where the book has ratings. No secret sauce, no editorial thumb on the scale — the aggregate is exactly the mean of what real readers said, made comparable.
- Scores refresh automatically on a rolling schedule, politely and source by source.
- Every book page shows the per-source breakdown, rating counts, and when each score was last synced — so you can judge the aggregate's freshness yourself.
- Amazon ratings are maintained by hand (their API does not expose ratings), so they may lag the storefront slightly.
How the catalog is curated
Every entry is added and tagged by a human — status, Kindle Unlimited availability, and categorized tags for progression system, setting, and tone. That keeps the catalog small but honest. Missing a book that belongs here? Spotted a wrong tag or a stale score? Tell us.
